My second ultrasound was this morning. I hardly slept at all last night, and was the second person into the clinic in the morning. The three gestational sacks were visible immediately, and they've gotten much bigger since my first scan. I'm happy to report that the doctor easily found a 122 bpm heartbeat in sac A. She then moved over to sac C, which had a heartbeat of 124 bpm. I'll admit, I teared up when I heard the whooshing of those tiny fragile hearts. Sac B is a bit of a mystery. The doctor wasn't able to clearly see anything in the sac, but she really wasn't sure. She said that the position could just be making it difficult to see anything. My next scan is on Jan 8th, when I'll be 8 weeks. Hopefully by then they'll be able to get a clear picture of B. Honestly, I'm okay with any outcome for B. As it is, I'm over the moon about hearing 2 heartbeats. If they both stick around, I'll be happier than I could ever put into words. If I see three heartbeats at my next ultrasound, it will be scary and overwhelming but also amazing.
What's really puzzling me is the fact that I still have no symptoms. I am 6w5d today, and my beta came back at nearly 67,000. How am I so completely oblivious to what's going on in my body? There are at least 2 beating hearts in there, and I don't feel a thing! I think the lack of symptoms are making it harder for me to believe that this is real. I'm still not associating that p-word with myself. I don't really want to wake up and puke, but it would make this seem a bit more real.

Hoo - freaking - ray!!! I am so excited to read this and a little teary as well. Gayby, this is the best news!
Congrats on your little beans mama. This is a dream come true for all of us I think. I'm pulling for all your babes and I can't wait to hear more about them as they grow.
PS - I think you will start to have more symptoms at about 8wks. Mine have lessened a tiny bit too but they will probably be here with a vengence for both of us soon.
Hehehe, so exciting!
I am so happy for you! What a great way to start 2010!
Those 3 little buggers are going to be awesome little warriors on their way to being born.
Just count your blessings for no symptoms. That means work will be easy and not as stressful if you're not pukey all the time. There are SMOOTH pregnancies you know:)
Freakin' amazing!
I am so happy for you guys! What a year 2010 is going to be...
Its funny, about your lack of symptoms, but it just goes to show you (or the rest of us), that we just can't expect ANYTHING!
hugs from here...
Congrats. I'm not sure that betas and symptoms are related. I didn't start to have symptoms until week 8. Don't worry, it's coming. I have a seaband that I can send you in the mail in preparation for morning sickness. It was passed along to me from another lesbian couple on BBC but my m/s passed by the time I got it. I was pretty lucky and only had morning sickness for 2-3 weeks (no puking). If I remember correctly, it's the sea band is brand new. Send me an email with your address and I'll put it in the mail: bejprincess@yahoo.com
Yay! Glad you updated - I was missing your posts! Wishing only the best news from here on out. Happy New Year!
Glad you saw good sacs and heartbeats from A and C. Thinking good thoughts for you and for little B in the next week.
And don't worry about lack of symptoms. It is A-OK to have an easy first tri!
Thank goodness! Ive been watching for posts all day and was getting worried. Liz came and woke me up to tell me that yall had posted and the great news about 2 beautiful heartbeats! Congratulations! I agree with the 8 week thing. Liz had only some mild tiredness and sore breasts til week 8, and then it hit! so enjoy getting a few things done because in a week or so, youre gonna be feeling it!
Thats great news. I am so happy for you. I am sure the symptoms will come soon enough.
2 solid heartbeats is amazingly wonderful! Hopefully by 8 weeks you'll know for sure how many darling babes to expect.
Be careful what you wish for regarding symptoms. They're bound to sneak up on you soon, oh pregnant one... :)
I am so happy that their were TWO heartbeats!! How very exciting! Try not to worry about the no symptoms thing, you have a great beta and you saw two heartbeats! That is much better than any symptoms. I am so glad that you posted, I was getting worried! :-)
Great news on the second U/S and the two heartbeats! Like another comment said, what an incredible way to start the new year. 2010 is going to be a big year for you and your family.
Holy Monkey! What an amazing story...I just caught up!
Three babies in one shot! You are a rockstar! I totally get the overwhelming feeling you must have, but do know that things have a funny way of working themselves out. It will be hard initially but once you get past the first 3 months, its all downhill from there!
Multiples are in a whole new league, my best advice would be to start lining up any help you can get (bottle washer, dinner delivery, etc). Get a calendar and when people offer to help, sign them up! ;)
I will be thinking of you and hope that by 8 weeks you get some clarity as to how many little beings you are growing.
CONGRATULATIONS MAMA! You are WAAAYYY Pregnant!
Hearing the heartbeat(s) is really something, isn't it? I am so freaking excited for you.
I think those symptoms will probably be on you before you know it, and you'll be thinking back to now and shaking your fist in the air. Or, you'll be one of the symptom-free lucky ones. Either way, you are healthily, beautifully, gloriously pregnant!
Happy new year to you! Still not feeling anything? Maybe you're just one of those incredibly lucky souls who is spared the morning sickness. I am sure it will start feeling real soon.
Congrats. Two, possibly three babies in an amazing result!
Fingers crossed for the next scan.
Just catching up with your blog and wanted to give you reassurance that no symptoms is perfectly fine. If you look back on my blog, I had a fairly easy first trimester even if they say carrying twins (or triplets) makes it harder. Not always!
I would say to try to eat in small amounts and really load up on proteins and healthy fats.
I honestly believe the Twins/Multiples book by Dr. Barbara Luke is excellent reference material and that the only reason my twins are as big as they are now is b/c I followed her advice from the very beginning.
Please contact me if you want any advice!
And I really, really hope that my current state of events isn't scaring you to death!
I'm so happy for both you and Elizabeth!
