Number 10, done and done

Insemination #10 is done.  I triggered last Wednesday, and did the insems on Thursday and Friday morning.  The counts were 16 million and 14 million for the new donor.  I've been feeling a whole range of emotions this time around.  Part of me is excited-  I always feel a renewed sense of optimism when I change things up.  It helps that the new donor has slightly higher counts than our old one.  Another part of me feels defeated already.  It's been nearly a week since the first insemination of this cycle, and I still don't feel anything.  I don't feel any different than I did after any of the other 9 inseminations.

I think part of my concern is that I'm really not sure when I ovulated after the trigger shot.  I've never been one to feel a distinct little twinge at ovulation, and my clinic doesn't do an ultrasound in between inseminations.  My ovaries felt a bit sore later in the day on Friday and all of  Saturday, so I'm worried that I ovulated too late after my insemination. It wasn't a sharp pain or a twinge or anything like that, it almost felt like a really full bladder except that it was my ovaries.  The nurse at the clinic said that the soreness could be from my ovaries shrinking back.  I'm not so sure.  So for anyone out there who has done injectables, did you have a distinct feeling of ovulation?  Anyone else feel sore for more than a day?

The numbers for the new swimmers sound really good! Seriously, those are great.
For me, I never feel ovulation, so I never counted on that. I trusted that the trigger shot is doing the thing it's supposed to do. I have heard that you can get pain from the ovaries 'adjusting' themselves afterwards, so that could very well be what you were feeling.

Great numbers! I don't have any input in regards to your ovulation, I just wanted to say good luck!

i NEVER feel ovulation! its so annoying when other people say they can feel it!

i sometimes wonder if this is why the universe wont give us a kid...i can hear it saying,
*deep universe-ish voice* "how will you feel your child's love or pain if you cant even feel ovulation??"

*shrug*

anywho...sending lots of positive energy your way....

I never feel my ovulation when I trigger like i do when it's natural. I was always nervous about when it actually happened and worried I missed it but the cycle I got pregnant we insemed at 31hrs post trigger so it must work right?

I have my fingers crosses for you!

in chinese medicine, feeling ovulation "pain" is a sign of liver qi stagnation and not something looked at as particularly helpful. plus, for myself, i do sometimes feel it, but who the hell knows when/ what i am feeling. i think for anyone it is just that: is this ovulation pain, ovaries shrinking back (that is a new one, i must admit), ligaments near ovaries pulling muscles at size increase, etc. it's, like so much of this, just a crapshoot.

anyways, we are thinking good thoughts about all the changes and the new donor's count seems amazing. i think you are on the right path. and, as some wise women told me the cycle i got pregnant, you don't have to believe in it for it to work!

here's to one more week and then really excellent news!

awesome numbers! Fantastic. I am with you--I never feel ovulation, and I wish our bodies would give us more specific feedback either way. A flashing neon sign would be helpful.
Good luck enduring the rest of your TWW. I've got my fingers crossed for you!
